Some ideas burn us up. Some allow us to fall into the deep sensations of life. As a study in breaking through layers of thought, this image presents several materials that define surfaces. The glass that magnifies the glowing tessellation, the ripples that distort the reflection, the lower mirror that reflects everything and the glowing skull tessellation that provides both illumination for the work and also a reminder of the eventual finality of circular thinking.

Using 20 years experience working with physical glass objects and light installations, this body of work experiments with taking that knowledge into digital modeling. In this model, only four "objects'' are present, a egg shaped glass covered in the tessellation, the glass head, a surface of water and a magenta mirror. The image is the result of light interacting with those objects.
